In a recent cyber scam individuals are receiving e-mails that appear to be from the IRS informing them of a tax refund and asking for their Social Security number and credit card data in order to receive the refund. 

The IRS NEVER e-mails taxpayers about refunds!  Don’t bite! 

  The IRS asks you to forward these false e-mails to phishing@irs.gov and then delete the e-mail.
